Me making an idiot of myself:

Also includes an interview with someone named Rick... something. I forget.

AND YES I KNOW THAT THE SITE PROMOTION SUCKED. That is why I'm getting a domain for that thing.

Not sure what was kept in or not and I can't tell right now because I'm at the office, don't have headphones and there's no way I'm playing it for my boss. He's old school sports radio and would probably call out all of my flaws. :)

Posh? Me? My name is a loaded thing. Although I've heard that "Rachelle" is faux French, it was given to me as a reference to my family history (some Québécois and my late father living in France for a few years). I'm not sure where the original pronunciation came from or who to blame it on, but this is much ado about nothing.

The issue is that we were thinking on different wavelengths. They wanted to cover the basics and get on with it. Meanwhile, I had questions that went beyond this and were the result of years of Signal Loss work. I did manage to talk to Rick about some more detailed things after the show (thus the discussion about the masters I mentioned). There was also the matter of time - Rick first said only 30 minutes, but stayed for 45 or so.

There we plans for crib notes to be dicussed together, but weren't due problems that were beyond everyone's control and related to a power outage. So, the fact that the hosts wanted to roll as low as they did came as a surprise. I regret that the interview went the way it did and that I didn't shoved them aside more, but it was hard to get a word in with those two, as you can imagine.

The Michael Vick thing hit too close to home and there wasn't much I could say after that. We had to follow the coverage closely for work and it's just plain upsetting. I didn't speak up then because I knew it would by spotlight hogging - "Well, at my work... - and the hogging that happened earlier left my uncomfortable.

I am not a highly cultured geek by any means. You've seen my blog - I waste my time watching TV shows like Mystery Science Theater, playing World of Warcraft and Phoenix Wright or doing both at the same time. After hanging around Fan Expo with these guys, though, I don't think we mesh that well and I haven't heard back about anything since. There was an offer to help out discussing anime and I said I could help out, but I mentioned that my interest in anime is mostly driven not by "It's anime! OMG!" but "This is a form of media from a different culture that often isn't that special, much like our own media, but there are some gems of nice storytelling and artistry that are worth checking out." This opinion isn't very popular. What were they expecting? A yaoi fangirl?

I really want to do something more... intellectual online. At the moment, that means focusing more on Signal Loss and maybe reviewing some audiobooks for sffaudio.com.
