HA!
No, I did not make that. Found it while bored at work.
If ANYONE edits that, though, I'll know who did it. :P

Date: 2007-07-13 01:13 pm (UTC)To me this is the crux of MMORPGs. Everyone wants to be a hero so then everyone is hero. As such being a hero is an everyday thing and really not all that special. So it becomes the little things that will make the difference. Everyone killed Zuluhed the Whacked! Question is, did you spend half the battle being chased by a pit lord?

Date: 2007-07-13 01:56 pm (UTC)Oh, I totally buy that argument, which is exactly why Fel is a former Sentinel - bascially just soldier/archer. That's why a lot of the players who make their characters self important drive me insane. A perfect example is Renault Mograine. While you "kill" him while running the instance, he's not actually dead. He's killed when you bring the Corrupted Ashbringer to SM and trigger a scripted event. Illidian is an odd case. I know you don't like spoilers, but the player characters aren't the ones that give the killing blow. This is also the same with Old Hillsbrad. Thrall HAS to deal the final blow to the Epoch Hunter. If he doesn't or dies before the end of the fight, the boss can't go below 1% health.
Besides, heroes are boring. "We went to Stratholme and pwned the Baron!" isn't half as interesting as "We went to Stratholme, got completely lost, jumped by ghosts because SOMEONE had to open a mailbox and took really sick, all while wondering just HOW that place is still burning."

If you haven't heard it, you need to listen to it and share it with Lisa.
