I don't know if I ever mentioned it before, but on the bus ride down to Toronto, we stopped at a Mac's Milk/Wink's Mart in Wawa at.. like... 2 am. The bus driver got on the PA and announced that we were stopped at a "Confectionary Store".

This amused me for a minute... and then I though "Darn... I REALLY feel like confectionery right now".

But, alas, I was poor and couldn't afford any at the time. But.... "confectionery"? "Candy" I understand and "Sweets", if only because people I know use that term.

Speaking of candy, random thought/comment...

Us Canadians, we get our Reese Peanut Butter cups in packages of three. The result is that the weight of the ~~confectionery~~ candy causes it to pile on top of each other when the package is vertical. So, instead of 3 across, you get three in a pile.

The packaging was so NOT designed for vending machines. o_O
