One of the things that bugged me in PoG canon (one of many things, in fact) were the posters in Rick's living room.

The piccy of the living room is one of my favorite little scenes in canon (my favorite in fandom was the "Gong Show" misadventure from "Part 33: One Problem Solved" from the first TTPCTS round robin, BTW) and hands down my favorite panel from the comic book opening. Rick's expression is just so him. Now, if we had Nance in there it would be the greatest piece of artwork in history, but we don't and it loses some points for that.

Where was I?

Okay, if you have never seen PoG and have no clue what the heck I'm talking about,
this is the image. Taken from the BookTelevision run, if the bright blue logo didn't catch your eye.

Most of the sci-fi references I easily picked up on. The Doctor Who lamp, the Doc Savage and Star Wars posters, the "I Gork Spock" sign (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] logansrogue for cleaning that sign up. I'm stupid). A few things I couldn't figure out, like the poster on the far left, the image on Rick's shirt and the large poster to the right of the bookcase. The latter one bothered me because it's so big and out in the open, but for the life of me couldn't figure out what it was from.

I was looking through a stash of PoG images I had stashed on my secondary hard disk and found a screengrab of the living room. I finally clued in to what that poster is of: it's a bloody Buckaroo Banazi poster! It's the jet car from the opening of the movie driving off into the sunset. The image is used on a few products, most notiablely the original release of the novel, and itself is probably my favorite piece of BB promo art. To see bigger versions of the image,
