Photography is costly. To get started in class, I need to dump over 100 dollars for supplies. Among other things I need:

1 dish towel
2 pkgs of 25 sheet or 1 pkgs of 100 Kodak Polymax RC 8x10 paper
1 pair of rubber gloves (surgical or dish washing, whichever length I prefer)
4 ISO 100 B/W negative film 135-24 (preferably Kodak T-Max ISO 100)
5 transparent negative sleeves
1 roll of B/W film 35 mm (any type and whatever is cheapest, since it'll be used for pratice loading)
1 lab coat

I get to have my own lab coat. Isn't that funky?

The towel I have. The lab coats sell at the bookstore for around 20 dollars each. The gloves I can pick up at the mall. The rest though is going to be a pain.

There's only one real photography store in the whole town. Welcome to the fun that is living in the north woods.

Deal is that there's two things I can do. One is go on a long bus ride uptown to Primary. They have a student special that will give me the rest of the supplies (not including the pratice roll) for $79.99 including tax. Because all my change goes to washing my clothes, I'm going to have to buy a bus pass. The Crosstown bus goes pretty close to the store and stops right by res (I can see it the stop from my window).

Second idea is that I can order from Don's Photo all the way up in Winnipeg. They'll ship it here by Greyhound bus within a day and there's no tax because it's from out of province. However, they only take credit card orders and I've maxed my card on text books already.

::groans:: At least I don't need everything until the end of next month.
