Saving the world at 8 bucks an hour
Jun. 29th, 2003 11:05 pmWheee... I'm back. The Adirondack mountains were nice. It's so different from the St Lawerence lowlands.
We made it out to The Great Escape on Saturday. The lineups in the water park were awful, so we floated around in the wavepool for an hour or so before going to the rides. I went on:
The Comet:
Queen of the beach, king of the mountians and GREATEST ROLLER COASTER EVER!!! ::drool:: It's a Canadian too. ;-)
Pirate Ship:
Yeah. My brother is a wuss and made me sit in the middle. Big thrill there. :-(
Alpine Bobsled:
Interesting, but it doesn't do anything for me.
Storytown Train:
The things I do for my family. >_< At least it gave Jen and I a chance to quote "Last Clear Chance" from MST3K.
Boomerang:
Actually, not that bad. Very smooth and it didn't "lag" in the inversions. Zippy.
Rainbow:
I like rides like this, but this one gave a wonderful view of the parking lot. Oooo, that lot is a work of art. Amazing, if only because it was FREE PARKING! X-D
Condor:
Another ride I normally like, but the people running it here sucked. RUN IT FASTER AND DON'T STOP IT AT THE TOP!
Steamin' Demon:
Old school Arrow looper. Rough but fun.
Nightmare:
I waited an hour for that?!?
Magical Mystery Tour:
"The Scrambler of Doom" - Jen
Flying Trapeze:
Swings with funny seats. They hurt.
Balloon Ferris Wheel:
This ride was so funny. You had to be there to understand. An eight member family on a small ferris wheel at once is something else.
At the request of family and a few friends, I will be adding a page to the site about my coaster track record and maybe some coaster reviews. Why it is so important is beyond me.
When I got back today I had to work at an Athletes World. Why is it called that? I figured it would be a sports store, but it just sells shoes and clothes. It's not even sporting clothing; it's the stuff the hiphop fans wore back in high school. $120 jeans and $500 jackets. The shoes might be sporting crap, but who wants to pay basketball in $280 shoes? Heck, West 49 sold more sporting goods.
