Aug. 24th, 2008 11:10 am.... I spent waaay too much money.

To explain everything, starting from the upper left...
Rumiko Chie figure. I decided to get the darn thing. She looks boring in the pose she's shipped with, but you can set her up to look a bit more like Ciel from Tsukihime, with T-squares looking like Ciel's Black Keys. BATTLE TEACHER. I'm still unsure as to why this figure was brought over. Chie is one of the most obsure characters and is a reference to another series that's probably even more obscure here. However, what sold me on it is that the figure is based on the original game art and I don't have any figures like that. My Mion is based on the anime design.
What's the most crazy about this figure is you can remove the dress... and the underwear is really fetishy. @_@
The five figures below that are blind box figures - you get a box and open them to find out what figure you got. Except the Haruhi figures were already opened, so you could pick them out. For the Haruhi figs, I got a Yuki, dressed up as a wizard from the movie that the characters made, and Tsuruya. The Lucky Star figures are of Konata (blue hair), Miyuki (pink hair) and Patricia (blond hair).
Below that is a Hoverboy pin from the booth Rick was working at (The cover story is "Nazi Robots of Futures Past") and a cute kitty pin from
dhstein's booth. Buy her stuff! She has cute kitties!
To the right of those are the patches! The engineering patch is for Steff and the Banzai Institute patch is for myself. I'm so glad I found those. Now I need some thread...
The DVDs I got for dirt cheap, which is the only really that I picked them up. The first volume of Black Lagoon was less than ten dollars (great for a disc that was out of print until a week ago) and volume two of Lucky Star was twenty bucks.
Above that is a figma Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Nice find. It didn't come with as many toys as my Yuki figma, but the level of detail is the same. I'm always impressed at the detail and quality of the Figmas.
To the upper right is Kate's birthday goodies. There's a pencil case with Lenalee Lee from D.Gray-man, a Ryōko trading figure and a Konata trading figure, still packaged.
I love cons. XD

Date: 2008-08-24 06:28 pm (UTC)- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a decent science fiction series, but some people find it annoying
- Lucky Star is about the adventures of teenage geek girls in high school.
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (where Chie is from) is a violent series that's aimed at adults and reads like a crossover of X-Files, Groundhog Day and Amazing Stories.
- Black Lagoon is an action series that can also be seen as a black comedy about the working world.
- And D. Gray-man is a fantasy show that Kate likes.

Date: 2008-08-24 07:05 pm (UTC)Aw well. Let me get the camera out. It's not super kinky, but it's not what you'd expect a teacher to be wearing while dressed for class.
