AH HA!

As I told [livejournal.com profile] pyat I would draw...

Oi, it's been forever since I've doodled out that cartoon dog.

OMG FURVERT!!!!

Very cute. How are you finding the tablet?

I heard that Alex Farm Products over at the market was robbed overnight. Bet you don't know anything about that, huh?

The tablet is really nice. I had another one before this, a Wacom Graphire, that never really handled properly. The surface didn't work well. This one is a bottom of the line Bamboo and it works so much nicer. One day I want an Intuos, but that's looking at the $250 range. This one works fine.

Note that this is a quick drawing, so the linework is sloppy on places like the shoes. I'm working on a more detailed piece (spent about six hours on it so far) and I'm pleased at the results.

Squeak! Why would _I know anything about The Great Cheese Caper of '08?

How much was this one, if I might enquire?

I'm reminded of the kid's book Great Cheese Conspiracy.

This one was $80 a Future Shop. It was on sale for $70 at Best Buy and $63 at Canadian Computers, but neither had it in stock when I visited and those sales are over now. You could probably find it cheaper on College, but that's the realm of "Buyer Beware".

There's also a slightly different model. The one I got was the most basic Bamboo and it only comes with the tablet, pen and driver disc. At Future Shop, for twenty bucks more, you can upgrade to the "Bamboo Fun", which includes a mouse and software. If you don't have any arting programs, that one might be the better deal.

Also, it does somehow look a bit like you, but I'm not sure it's polite to say "Gosh, you look like a cartoon dog!" to a lady, even if it's on the Internet. :)

Yeah, see, that's the one downside, because you'd be calling me a bitch. :P

But, I'm short, stout and a spaz, so I'm kinda cartoony in real life too.

::grins:: Yep! I'm still working on the AMU pic (I was drawing socks and attempting to fix the pants last night) but this was a follow up from lunch with [livejournal.com profile] pyat yesterday, when I drew a cartoony dog on a paper tablecloth but neither one of us had a camera... and then the server put my drink on top of my doodle.

But yeees. WHY DIDN'T I GET THE TABLET EARLIER?! This is the most fun I've had in a long while.
