Insomnia sucks
Jul. 11th, 2008 03:50 amAnd don't ask what caused it. Let's just say that I can't leave my windows open at night anymore, as FREAKY bugs will get in (they look like the unholy mix of a cicada and a roach, but I know they come from the outside and are attracted to light. AND THEY FLY.) and I have what I hope is a heat rash. Don't Google "heat rash". You get scary results. However, I think it's just a heat rash as it's RIGHT on spots on my legs that would be where the skin is rubbing against the jeans and since it's so hot and humid out, that's got to be the reason. If anyone has any hints for dealing, I'm all ears.

It's LOVELY. It looks like the laserdisc cover for the movie, but better. I love the empty vastness of it. Yeah, that's getting a preorder.
And, uh, I THINK I've lost weight. I was really worried that I've put on pounds, as my shirts were sitting differently. However, I went t-shirt shopping tonight and discovered that a Men's Large at Mark's Work Wearhouse is no longer an option. I SWIM in them and look stupid. So, I've switched to Men's Mediums. Problem there is that Mark's usually focuses on Large and up, so colour pickings are slim.
Now, as to why I'm looking at Men's sizes and not Women's? I'm cursed with large shoulders, like a football player. I'll never be free from them. Most Women's cuts allow for more room in the front for boobs, but the shoulder cut is tight. So, I get more room in a guy's size.
Of course, my arms, my butt and legs are still flabby. :| It could just be that I'm more comfortable with a more "fitted" shirt than hiding my body, which is what I've been doing since forever.
Odd side note: The shopping was triggered by one of my favorite work shirts getting a massive hole and generally being not good for work. What dawned on me soon after that said shirt? Dates back to somewhere around 2000 or 2001. Yeah, I NEVER update my clothes. Today was the most t-shirts I've ever bought on one day and it was still only five.

Date: 2008-07-11 11:27 am (UTC)I can't sleep when it gets too hot. I just toss and turn and feel sticky. XD Just can't get comfortable, it sucks. I don't think I've ever had heat rash though... I'm not sure if putting on some kind of soothing aloe lotion would help but I guess you could always try?
I have broad shoulders too. x_x So a lot of t-shirts sit kind of funny on me. Doesn't help that I have giant boobs either, so it pulls in the most intersting of ways. >_> But I find that they don't look bad so I can still get away with wearing them. Totally don't blame you for preferring something far more comfortable. XD

Date: 2008-07-11 03:16 pm (UTC)They seem to appear right before a sudden rain storm - when I had my windows closed eariler in the month, they would pop up on the outside of my window screen before the rain hit. That's how I know they're outdoor bugs. That and the buggers are noisy and I heard them as soon as they get in. I only started seeing them in late June, so I'm assuming it's just some crazy summer bug.
What makes me think it's heat rash is the location of the rash and irritation (it's like a rash with some pimples - clogged pores, no doubt). It's on... ::makes a face:: the back and inside of my thighs and these would be areas that wouldn't be able to air out after walking or whatever, because those would be the areas pressing against a surface when you sit down. Thus, heat rash. I had it once in these areas as a kid, right before I hit puberty and this flare up seems to be connected to my cycle because of the acne part of it. It looks nasty, but it heals. The treatment is to just let the area heal and dry out. Aloe isn't that good if the area covered, as it just inflames the problem. ::coughs:: When you search online for info on this, you find people saying "I thought it was heat rash but it was really bed bugs" and I am parnoid of bed bugs, ticks and lice. It's the side effect of getting mild PTSD from head lice. However, if it was EVIL things like that, it wouldn't be focused in such a small area. The pimples are also actually on pores (thank you, chicken legs), so they're not bites.
Damn you, broad shoulders. Of course, when you explain to some people that you have massive shoulders naturally and thus have problems finding fitting clothes, they attack you and say "It's only because you're fat! Lose some weight and it'll fix itself! (Insert fat-rant here)". For heaven's sake, the doctor noted my broad shoulders while I was in the womb and thought I was a boy because of them. If that's not natural, I don't know what is. x_X
I like how the Jinx shirts fit you, like the priest one I saw last week. I actually did get a woman's shirt from Marks last night, for kicks. My fear is that it hugs the curves a bit too well, but it seems fine and loose enough.
