1. What do you think of the state of the world?

Ugh. Where to start? I believe that we're at an odd sort of crossroads. While we are in a high point of humanity in terms of what we can create, we're at a high point of unbalance as well. This would be "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer", which is more burned down to "The rich are growing richer faster than inflation while the poor struggle to keep pace".

We live in a strange time when it comes to material objects, a side effect of what I just mentioned. This creates a terrible cycle - we have the drive to buy material objects to feel better, but unless we're in the land of the super rich, if we buy everything we want, then we'll end up in debt, which will trigger more desire to take solace in material objects and the cycle repeats. Thus, you have such stupidity as people living on welfare buying big ticket items. It's a emotional comfort.

One of the fixes is to reject this cycle and attempt to return to the simpler things in life. You can see this movement in the media, where old licenses are being dragged out for the nostagia connected to the properties - they're stories from a simpler time. This fad is not just unique to the North American market - Japan is recycling old licenses as well and interestingly enough, these tend to be from the period of Japan's "lost decade", the 1990s. The North American trend tends to be focused on the 1980s, which was an unstable time both in the markets and politically. Interesting we should be drawn to it. I'll also note that the 1980s was the last decade for "media heroes", but this is a completely different rant.

How this ends, I don't know. There's very many scary ways it could end, like humanity collapsing in on itself - the upper class can't do shit without us and they're probably going to learn that one way or another. On the other hand, in every decade something or another was going to kill off humanity. We're still here.

In short, TLDR. I could go on for pages on this, but I'll shut up now.

2. When did you last drink a good cup of tea?

Um, probably a week or so ago. My favourite flavour of tea at the moment is the blueberry herbal tea from Second Cup. The scent of it is very strange and one of my coworkers compared it to "Halls, but the good side of Halls, not the medicine side". Needs to steep a long time to get a good flavour, though.

3. Blue or green and why?

Blue. It's always been my favourite, since before I can remember. It even dicated what Care Bear I liked. So, there's no real "why". It just is.

4. What did you plan on doing in Maine so far?

I want real, local seafood. I also want to go exploring. I've debated on coughing up the cash for gas and begging you to drive us to Old Orchard Beach one night, but it's just south of Portland and that's really if you're up for that sort of thing (Not me being washy over that, but I have friends that really, really like tourist traps like that and others that hate them, so I've learned the hard way not to force that interest onto other people).

5. What's your favourite piece of candy?

Just one? My favourite bar is Max 5/Take 5, but given how rare those are here, I also like Reese's peanut butter cups. For not-bar candy, I like chocolate covered almonds and chocolate covered gummies. The latter is hard to find.

6. How would you like to spend the rest of your life?

With all of the hardships, I'm actually really happy with my life right now. This has me very worried for the future, because I reached a lot of my goals at the age of 24. I'd love to spend more time working on my Prisoners of Gravity fandom stuff, since that's given me a lot so far. My childhood dream was to work at TVOntario, but I don't really want to work there now, since a lot of what I liked is gone. Although, I could maybe make them rebuild, but I don't know. So, I guess I'd like to stay happy in my fandom and in my personal life. The one thing I'd change is my fear that it's all going to be taken away.

7. Who would you most like to cast as the IP&S AU people?

Eeep. I think that the AU would do well to be animated, because I cannot imagine those characters without their canon voices and looking the part. Sadly, some of them are fairly old or have passed on, like Devon's actor. I'm not sure how to handle him. For something like young!Nance, that's a tough call. I'd probably want her voiced by someone of that age, but with some talent. So, it would have to be an unknown. With Shayna, that would be a tough call too. It's hard for me to explain what I imagine her voice to be like.
