So, I burned my face today.

I've had a long standing problem with cystic acne. It's a pain. Switching facial cleanser brands will clear it up for about a month or so, but then it always comes back. It appears to be connected to my monthly cycle.

So, my sister said she read up on that acne in general could be battled by using a facial cream after washing. Something about balancing out the oils you remove from the face with the cleanser. So, I decided to try a cream that's designed to help people with acne problems.

Yeah, the crap burned my face.

I spent 15 minutes scrubbing it off. It doesn't hurt anymore, but now I looked like I have a decent sunburn. Sigh.

Yeah. Cystic acne is usually hormonal (hence why you have problems in certain periods of your cycle) and so they often use birth control as a way to curb it. It's also used for cycle regulation and some other things, too, not just birth control.
