On a happier note...
Apr. 5th, 2008 01:23 amTwo Items of Business:
First
I HAD A BROWNIE TART TODAY. Such things should not exist in the free world. I keep seeing these pretty chocolate tarts around downtown Toronto. When we have tarts in at the office, our IT guy always steals it and eats it back in his office. Ah, I've finally discovered WHY.
Said tarts look like this. The evil people at Dufflet call it the Double Fudge Euro Tart. No, dude, it's BROWNIE. See that smooth surface? That's not the filling - that's the icing. There's brownie under the surface.
Sadly, it lacks the freshness of Future Bakery's chocolate butter tarts, but it'll get you on a sugar high in 10 seconds flat. Made end-of-project work just fly by.
I also had Kinder Surprise ice cream (well, gelato, but whatever) and pho tai, so I must be on some type of lucky food streak.
Second
I need to explain some more icons for that meme. The following were requested by
pyat

Yeah, it's a pic of Commander Rick from PoG. I drew this in a notebook while bored in church in... like... 2004 or something. There was lots of other doodles on the page too, including a nice one of my dog. I scanned it to share the dog doodle and forgot about it. Later, I rediscovered the file and that doodle of Rick made me laugh, so turned it into a quick-and-dirty icon.
I'm not sure why Rick is wearing mittens or why this is so exciting, but I'm easily amused. This explains a lot about me.

This was my default icon back in college. It's rather dull, but I like it. Now, the dog there isn't "me" in that it's a Teddog, nor is supposed to mean anything. It's just a very cute puppy.
It's an edited screencap from Prisoners of Gravity - the original scene has Rick holding up a piece of paper. The paper was replaced with a package of TimTams. TimTams are strange cookies that come from Australia but can be found in Canadian supermarkets from time to time. I was introduced to them when I worked at the Science Centre, but I could NEVER secure a package until a few months ago. Steff really wanted to try them too and I traded her a package and a coffee crisp and some jelly babies for a wad of US candy.
Now, beyond this, TimTams are believed to either fuel the mysterious multiverse or be tied to large dimensional leaks. The first grocery store I found them at the intersection that had earlier appeared in the multiverse in the story In The Land of The Giants. In either case, TimTams are freakin' awesome.

Ah! It's a image that Steff drew of my "pairing" for the AMU - alter mirror universe. It's a scene from a part that she wrote for it. I can't link to it, since it's not public yet. Until then, the people and the scene shall forever remain a mystery! Oooooo!
Watch, Steff will explain it in the comments.
