Church Picnics FTW? (Y/N)

I woke up yesterday morning only to be greeted by a bag of salt potatoes! Yay! We couldn't get down to the pageant this year, so I was worried I was going to have to wait a year. :D

According to my friends who were there, it looks like we won this round against the protesters there. Everything has been moved to one side of the road now, so it's all private property. Evangelists who attempt to get on the property were escorted off. Last year was particularly bad (people yelling at kids that the kids' parents were leading them to Hell. WTF?), so my guess is that this was a direct response. The sheriff was present, but it wasn't clear if this was preventive or the result of an earlier interaction. That said, I was told that the protesters were standing in the middle of the road after the pageant and yelling at passing cars, which is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. This piece of road is part of a winding stretch of dark country road in the middle of nowhere. Standing on the yellow line at about 11 at night is not smart! Can we have a year that goes by without the potential of injury to either side?

Ugh. So, I missed all that, but it was church picnic yesterday. Not sure if this was extremely good or bad. I found it pretty dull because all the adults went to play baseball and dumped their kids at the activities, when really the games should have been for both the kids and the adults. I tried to run a water balloon toss, but some of these kids couldn't conceptualize the idea of tossing, catching, stepping back. So, I said "Screw this" and declared all out water fight, which was fun except for the young kids who tried to eat the balloon pieces. Sigh.

I had prepared two extremely large balloons which didn't get used, so Taylor and I were trying to fling one across a field. Mike decided this was a boring idea, tossed the second one at us and took off. Somehow, the flung balloon didn't pop, so I grabbed it and chased Mike across the park and tossed it at him, also managing to hit the father of my friend Laura-Lily. Mike blasted me with an air horn in retaliation and the bishop came over, expecting to find some kids causing this chaos and found 2 people in their 20s. ::cough::

After this, we went on a quick shopping trip in hopes of locating a starter pack of the World of Warcraft TCG for me. Couldn't find one ANYWHERE! So, I picked up a tin for the latest Pirates of the Spanish Main expansion. I miss it and haven't bought any since Davy Jones' Curse. Couple of things I've noted:
- Less factions. This expansion only has America, the Cursed, Pirate, England, France and Spain.
- Titans! I got Brachyura, a giant crab.
- Junk! Maybe it was luck, but I got 4 junks in the tin. That's a lot of junk.

My pirate collection frightens my mom. I was sorting them out and she gave it one look and since "You have a whole Navy there!"

That is a tissue of lies. I did no such thing and was not the instigator of any watergun fights either.

And lets not forget the $100 WoW Board Game which we couldn't afford or the lack of American Wal-Marts in which to buy $20 Voltron tins.

And I should of been able to raid your island. I had sunk your navy (despite my lousy luck!)

Because of the sneezing fit I had last night, I woke up to find my sinuses aching and causing a headache. I mentioned this to mom and she said to stay home and treat it so I wouldn't miss work tomorrow.
