A truckload of liquid sugar is all over the 401 right now. Mm.... SUGAR.

I'm just in one of those mood this week. My sinuses have gone all wacky and by the end of the workday, all I wanna do is sleep. This is why everything of mine has been delayed. I really don't have any interest in doing anything.

Potterdammerung is upon us. It's proved to be quite amusing at work... since I'm waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I'm sadly excited that the Wankocalypse is coming! My only interest in Harry Potter is the extremely messed up fandom.

Why?

¯\(º_o)/¯ I guess it's just like a massive train wreck.

In America, first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women.

OH SHOOT! I'm not working in a Chapters! Must get job there so I can hate the masses. I HATE YOU POTTER FANS. Though the last one I had to live through was Goblet of Fire. Or was it for the Order of Toasted Bird? Yep it was the Phoenix one.

I would be afraid if I were you. I have your sister's cake holder and I know where you live. And I'm bringing dice.

I'm not a Potter fan. However, if you'd pardon my language, they bring the best batshit to the fandom table.

For serious. If you have a moment, take a peek at these examples.

Msscribe (http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/The_Ms._Scribe_Story) - A woman wants to become part of the fandom inner circle. How she does it is completely mindblowing.

Cassie Claire (http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Cassandra_Claire) - A fanficcer who gets nailed for plagiarism and begs online for an iPod. Somehow manages to become a published author.

Harry Potter: Best Animated Independent Foreign Language Documentary (http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Harry_Potter:_Best_Animated_Independent_Foreign_Language_Documentary) - Just read it. It's goofy.

The events of "Snapes on an Astral Plane" (http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Snapes_on_an_Astral_Plane) - Nutbars attack someone who points out Snape's faults.

There's more here (http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Harry_Potter_fandom). It's a thing of wonder.

I've only gotten half way down Msscribe. Thank you for sharing. As if I hadn't seen enough already. I had seen the worst anime had to offer (not so much manga). /cry /weep. But I did realize that I have something I need to work on.

On another note, either you read that site too much or you wrote the whole thing. It seems to ooze Commanderteddog. And that scares me. Its pretty sad when your fandom consists of mocking other people fandoms. Can you have slash fandoms? Like fandom on fandom action? Wing Gundam does Star Trek? Harry Potter takes on the Daily Show? Acutally that's not a bad idea...

I think we need to an intervention for you. I'm worried, very worried. Mmmm... Femslash... I mean you need help!

I didn't write it, but I've been hanging around Fandom Wank since sometime in 2003. It's not really a fandom based on making fun of fandom. That's more like Portal of Evil or Something Awful, sites that really bother me.

The main part of Fandom Wank is a community on a site like Livejournal where people in fandom report stupid things that happen in fandom. And by "stupid things" I don't mean heckle bad fanfic or fanart, but rather people acting really out of line, being drama queens/kings and starting flame wars for no good reason. An example would be the fights on our realm forums between Xenu and Roller.

Most of them are simply goofy, but there's some like Msscribe where things are really creepy and you have to wonder if the person is playing with a full deck. I've seen some truly scary ones, stuff that gives the rest of us fans a really bad name.

"Fandom on Fandom action"? That sounds like a crossover and those happen in fanfic all the time. ;)

True, but just reading that site makes me think all fandom is like that! Mind you I've written fanfic in the past myself plus other things (need I link Necropolis: Hamilton ::shudder::) and I can understand the sentiment of fandoms being made to look worst by some nutbar.

If everything f_w reports about Msscribe is true then that is really messed up. Mind you its potterporn so I don't how far of a leap that really is.

Msscribe is really the exception to the rule, which is the only reason she's so notable. Most of the time, it's just grown adults acting like kids.

The newest post on the comm is about a House fan that wrote a fic and included a note demanding reviews, which made people extremely cranky. The next one after that is about a flame war that started when someone complained that Apu on the Simpsons demeans Indian culture.

This older Warcraft one is funny (http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/1027364.html). Botters upset that Blizzard froze their accounts, because there's nothing wrong with botting! Epic fail, there.

That is funny. Oh the pain and suffering. Is Dual Boxing a banable offense? I hope not!

Check this out though. Mainly more sony Fanboys out on the defense. I've seen a lot of this and much worst. But I linked this one because someone brought up the hardcore gaming not being done anymore (specificly on the Wii, but in general this is happening). See the Wii is trying to appeal to other people rather then just the 18-35 male bracket. And its working.

Penny Arcade had a similar article here. But his article does not so much talk about hardcore versus casual. This is more about the single player game giving way to the multipler. Because he argues that the single player game was the domain of the nerdy introvert. However a majority of people prefere to play games with other people. Game makers are realizing this and now starting to make more game for the masses. Bascially the video game industry is becoming even more consumable for the mass market.

Not to wank or anything but this did make me shed a tear. I liked the single player game and I liked the game made for the nerd. The one that takes 60 hours to beat. So it makes me sad that it will become more of niche. But then again, I don't play video games like I use too.

Many apologies about the tangent!
