May. 17th, 2007 03:52 pmHere's an odd fact: the cheaper your meal is at Pickle Barrel, the better tasting it'll be. The only research I have to back this up is my own. :P Their onion rings are awesome.
urufudo! You needs to play hooky from work and come down here and have Pickle Barrel onion rings, DARN IT! They come on this little tree thing where the rings hang out with two kinds of dipping sauces. It are awesomeness!
Random: When I was a kid, I used to have this book set called "The Golden Book Encyclopedia of Natural Science". It was extremely out of date when I got it (published in 1962 and I was born in 1983), but I loved it to the point where the covers started to fall off.
Yes, I was a kid that read encyclopedias for fun. Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! :P
There's two things I can remember clearly from these books:
1) The "Dog Chart". Someone, in their great wisdom, plotted out a four page (presented as two two-page spreads) chart of how that took a guess at how dog breeds where related. It was more that a little odd.
2) The cover to Volume 9. Here's what it looked like. As a kid, I would always think that it was so darn surreal. Still feels that way. Not sure if it's the colouring, the very staged layout or the polar bear going "HAY GUYS I GOTS SOME MEATS". The volume 14 cover is love for a different reason.
On Red Green fansites: I've given some thought and come to a decision. I'm not creating a general site, but I'm going to build a small guide to the DVD releases. The info out there is really a mess and when I started collecting the discs, I had NO idea what I was going to find on the discs because the info online was pretty crappy.
Therefore, new project.
You know, whenever.
LONG WEEKEND OMG
