Welcome to Monday MORNING! Where did the weekend go again?

I hate Monday mornings, because I zone out of reality for two days over the weekend and then wonder on the train ride into Toronto why...

1) My MP3 player is dead.
2) My DS is sitting on my computer desk.
3) My bag is void of any reading material whatsoever.

Which results in a dull ride into work. There's only so many times you can look at the back of the same building before getting bored. I may solve this problem for the ride home with a bookstore run.

Added an anti-spammer mod to the MST3K fic and PoG nonsense forums. It seems to be doing the trick and catching the spambots. This was a serious problem and I'm glad I finally found a fix. It came from the owner of the TVOntario fan forums, actually.

I so wasted my weekend on WoW: okay I understand that World of Warcraft is a gimped RP tool. Freeform it isn't because most of the characters are locked into certian rules upon creation. However, it isn't "Amazing-Awesome-Cool" to steamroll all the lore to make a character "different". In fact, it's kinda annoying.

While on Fel this weekend, I was in the low level areas and got to meet a dwarf RPer who claimed his character was half Wildhammer Clan blood and half Dark Iron Clan blood. While it's cannon for dwarves to mix-and-mingle (why yes, I've followed the "Fate of the Kingdom" quest), you'd think there would be some upfront bitterness with the whole Modgud and Grim Batol deal. Shamans and warlocks don't seem to mix well, especially when said 'locks are messing with Ragnaros. Plus, if you have to state outfront in your RP profile "OMG! My dwarf is a mixed blood!", you're almost trying too hard. Which, coming from me, is saying something.

I don't advertise it but despite being raised in the shadow of Mountains of Khaz Modan my father hails from Alterac which is what I consider myself to be from.

I've got no issue with characters being from wild and wacky places. Dwarves and humans especially live all over the place and a repeating theme of WoW is people being displaced. Character quirks are cool too. For example, Merd is a big fan of Edwin VanCleef, as we all know VERY well. Fel is a former Sentinel who quit after she became mortal so she could pursue more monetary rewards. Mind you, we don't broadcast these things to everyone, unlike those emo chicks with "She has a sad, distance look in her eyes and scars on her chest." written in their profiles.

A better example of players being overly silly with character history is the one Kate mentioned once, which was this one Night Elf female that claimed she was Elune. Or all the "royality" in Silvermoon City (what IS it with Blood Elves?!). Some of it I'm kinda iffy on, like a Draenei on our server who's an Eredar spy. It is possible to do something big and get away with it. There was a 70 on our server who was supposed to be former Defias, so he helped lowbies in Westfall with the quests against the Brotherhood.

Too many, though, try to hard. :P

Thus explaining that Stormpike Battle Charger you kept shoving in everyone's faces?

And why I look past the shaky moral grounds on which we lay claim to the valley.

Yes, and a rogue touting strong morals is like a druid discussing the higher points of deforestation.

Before you force the subject of conversation to my time in the valley, I have two words for you: "Warsong Gulch". That's a battle where there is no question about morals, not that I have a personal bias to one side or the other.
