Jan. 17th, 2007 04:58 pmKate's copy of Burning Crusade came in! The TCG Starter Pack didn't ship with it, but Future Shop sent her an email stating that it's delayed and should be arriving in 3-5 days.
She and Quinn (newest member of the insanity) have been playing as blood elves for the better part of the day as a mage and hunter - note the lack of paladins. I'm hoping that she might let me play a bit tonight on her account, but that requires me installing it on my machine and then reinstalling all the patches after 2.0... and I'm a lazy person.
I'm also not happy with my computer at the moment, as it decided to explode several times last night. It REALLY doesn't like WinDVD.
On a completely different topic, I don't think I'm going to be following the Hellsing comic anymore until it figures out what it wants to do. All it's been is random battles for the last.... year now. Sure, it's fun to thin out the cast, but I'm getting sick of it being "Anything you can do, Alucard can suddenly do better!", mostly because I never found Alucard that interesting to begin with. What troubles me is that there have been references that some characters are much more complex than what they seem, like Hans Günsche and Schrödinger, but they seem to have been forgotten.
Heck, there hasn't been much of Victoria since the "Oh, it's you..." scene and that was a long time ago. I realize that there was a lot of focus on her back in volume 7, where she went from being this mysterious character to having a complex backstory. It was a sudden rush of information, but it worked in the context of what happened and finally made sense of why she never spoke about her past, why she had sudden bursts of anger and why she often felt awkward around other members of the cast. In the end, she finally came to terms with that and then nothing happened! Yes, that character arc ended, but at least something with her!
At least FMA seems to be progressing somewhat well. Sigh.
