Katie is waiting on her standard edition to arrive - it was supposed to have shipped last night. Mike and Lisa managed to snag Collector's Editions somehow. I think Laura is getting the Collector's too.

And me... well... it was either upgrade and buy another month of World of Warcraft or have money for late Christmas presents and shipping for a project related to Signal Loss. I made my choice - I'm getting a pile of new Prisoners of Gravity episodes soon!

I'm sorry. I love WoW and all... but... heh... you guys can live a few months without Fel. This is for myself, really. The job search still isn't going well and I've applied to about 50 places this month. It's killing me inside. Plus, this is the first time I've had a chance to secure episodes of PoG with the Discovery Channel edits. That means I'll now have versions from TVOntario, PBS, Space, BookTV and Discovery, along with having seen a Master tape.

In connection with this project, I'm going to be providing some PoG related audio to a science fiction news blog. Wheee!

On the WoW side, Katie is allowing me to sneak on her account and play Burning Crusade on her account. Probably be making a Draenei on Sentiels, but nothing long term. It's also a bit of a hassle because that means Katie and I can't be on at once and I'm not going to be able to visit Outland. Fel IS now set up to cross over (she's level 58) but that's not going to happen with a frozen account.

How much does a month of WoW cost?

I appreciate the offer, Steff, but I can't really ask that from you.

A month of WoW costs about $20 CDN. However, there's not a lot for me to do in the game now. Fel is almost finished the gameplay aspects from the original game (she's level 58 and the cap is at 60 and trust me, it was starting to get boring again), so there wouldn't be much to do unless I bought the Burning Crusade expansion/add-on. That thing costs $60 or $100 CDN depending on the version. The problem with that is that the rest of her WoW "family" aren't high enough to even enter the new areas, so I'd be stuck soloing and that's boring as heck given that I... don't... really care about the main plotline that the game is taking. They decided to focus on one of the wangstiest characters in canon. :(

The best thing is to sit and wait until my pals catch up. That could take a while, given that Lisa's main takes a long while to level up.

Plus, because of WoW, I've fallen behind on Signal Loss and that's my real online baby. It's going to be 6 years old in 2 months and I've got so much work to do bringing it up to speed. PoG makes me happier than WoW and I really need that right now.

All right, but lemme know if or when your buddies level up. I still owe you a Christmas present, and it's a lot easier to buy online stuff than ship stuff to Canada from here.

Oh, tell me about it. When I mail your package, I'll probably have to fill out a ton of paperwork explaining that no, I am not mailing dangerous materials across the border.

Yeah you can play it whenever it decides to arrive at our house. I still haven't recieved an email that it has been shipped and yet my credit card was billed. -_-

That's normal because Canada Post is slow in updating their online records. Mom and I battled with this before with a birthday package. Usually when I get a "Your package has been shipped" message from Chapters or Amazon, it's already out for delivery.

Given that they've billed you, that package is already in the mail and probably at a sorting centre. So, you're not going to be stuck in the trap that some people are complaining about, where the item is out of stock. Compared to everyone else, Future Shop was really on the ball with the product lauch.

I'd give it two to three days.
