teddog: (Kill Me Now!)

Spent most of the day over at my friends and got a few things done - put up their Christmas tree, helped get Katie her horse on WoW.

Problem is that I got home and started feeling very pukey and now I'm so ill I can't sleep.

This is either the result of three things:
1) Food.
2) Drinks.
3) Both.
The food was limited to snackie foods (usually not an issue), some Chinese food and some McDonalds. The drinks were a mix of energy drinks and water.

I think it's the McDonalds upsetting me. Normally I can't stomach McDonalds at all and I don't know why, but I get the same reaction to Burger King, Taco Bell and Krispy Kreme. Harveys, Tim Hortons, Mighty Taco and Wendys are fine. Fast food with me is a massive pain in the tail.

Now, I've long assumed that it's connected to what I order (I avoid burgers at Wendys, for example), but this doesn't explain the whole story. Tonight was another test of this theory with a deli sandwich at McDonalds. The only food I'd willingly eat at the place was grilled veggie melt deli sandwich, because it wouldn't make me sick! The deli sandwiches never really made it to the United States, but have been around in Canada since 2004. Sadly, the veggie sandwich was discontinued a while ago and I haven't touched McDonalds much since then. I tried the ham and swiss today at Katie's suggestion... and I'm sick again! Joy!

Problem is, I order ham and swiss sandwiches at Tim Hortons all the time and I could live off of the stupid things if I had enough money. Something in the preparation or ingredients at McDonalds makes it toxic to my system. Darn it, I'm back to only ordering pop and Smarties McFlurries.

Any theories as to what is making me ill would be much appreciated. This has been confusing me since high school and I really don't know what's causing it. The current theory is that I'm reacting to a fat used by certain companies. Case in point: I stopped getting sick from Pizza Pizza when they switched the oils they used to a ones that were trans fat free.

What kills me is that there was a Tim Hortons right next door to the McDonalds and if I had a five dollar bill, this could have been avoided. Ugh!

I'm more or less off of McDonalds and only eat there maybe four times a year, tops, and that's usually because it's a last resort. I swear my brothers could eat there all the time, and I haven't got the slightest idea how their bodies handle it.

Alas, I am torn between Pizza Hut, Pizza Pizza and a local place for the title of pizza king, but Pizza Hut's cheese sticks kick ass.
