Oct. 13th, 2006 03:58 pmI'm kinda glad I don't live in Niagara right now. OMG! Snow!
The reason I've popped on here at the moment is to share a delightful bit of insanity with those not on
fanficrants. It's GOOD insanity. You can debate on if this is real or just a troll with way too much spare time, but either way, it's amusing. Kinda.
Here's the original post:

"Anyway, in one of my fandoms *cough* X-Men *cough* there's a loon who not only claims that she is "soul bonded" to one of the main characters but that SHE IS THE CHARACTER. The character is Cyclops"
Kinda strange, off the bat. This sort of thing, soulbonding, isn't that common in fandom, but it is around. I recall seeing someone in the Red Green fandom claiming that Kevin Black was her boyfriend/husband. It's creepy and the result of people not being that connected to the real world. There's a few that claim that they came from these fictional worlds and feel that existing in this world is a punishment for something they did "back home". Yeah. Just a little bit odd.
The saga continues:

"My last rant attracted the attention of Cyclops--er, the person that thinks she is him, or married to him, or really both, I mean. What is below is quoted directly from the ffnet message(s) she sent me since the post last night."
The original poster includes the email with names removed. It includes such highlights as the Soulbonder claiming that Scott Summers is her religion and that her two kids call the character "Daddy".
If things couldn't get worse, the Soulbonder in question makes an appearence. Maybe. I'm not sure if it's a troll or not, but if it's not, I'm going to cry:

My children lost thei"r biological father to a dumb 20-something whore so I raised them to believe in soulbonding. They love their "new" father. They love him like Christians love Jesus Christ. Christians are the original soulbonders. Why don't you go screw with them and leave me alone!!!!! Don't insult something you can't possibly understand. Soulbonding has been around for a long time."
Be warned that some of the comments are not safe for work in this last post. Because the soulbonder appears to be very anti Scott/Jean, some commenters decided to post so NC-17 Scott/Everyone else.
I hope that provides some amusement to brighten the afternoon blahs.
