Sep. 8th, 2006 01:59 pmFrom a piece of random Signal Loss feedback I got:
"Earlier in the day, while at the comic expo, Ty Templeton drew me a picture of Commander Rick, I'll be putting it up on my blog as soon as I get around to scanning it."
Wait... WHAT?! Ty is still drawing PoG characters if you ask him too?
D:
Also, there's some amusing childfree wank over at the Globe and Mail about how children should be put in the cargo hold of aircraft. News of the day is that Air Canada is making people put the pets down in cargo. Personally, I think that anything living shouldn't be placed in the cargo hold, but this idea of "If Fido has to go under, Johnny has to too so I can have a quiet flight!" is really silly. I've been on flights with barking dogs and screaming kids and amazingly enough, I've lived through them! I'd go so far to say that the worst flight I've ever been on was the one where a elderly man had a heart attack when we were halfway between Thunder Bay and Toronto. Let's send the old folks to cargo too! Oh, and the people who get drunk right after take off and then start hitting on me, along with the people that don't shower a week before the flight. How about everyone that looks at me funny? They don't deserve a seat either.
Ugh. My word. Before someone mentions that this measure was put in place for allergy suffers, I'd like to point out that I have bad allergies to pets. I do keep a dog and a cat, but the worst of my allergies are to rabbits, who always seem to be on the plane. However, I typically take my meds before I get on the flight. Passing security while doped up on meds is a bit tricky (allergy pills knock me out faster than sleeping pills), but I know that I've taken all the steps I can to prevent a problem.

Date: 2006-09-08 07:05 pm (UTC)You have tickets? Way to go! While I love the radio and TV shows, nothing can quite compare to seeing them live. There's a completely different level of energy there. Where are you sitting? They were including the audience in on some skits when I saw them, but most of the lucky people were in the first few rows. They didn't pick me (sniffle) but someone a couple of seats across got to be one of Mr. Canoehead's arch-nemeses.
