I refuse to play Star Fox Command before bed anymore. Last night I had a dream that I unlocked Dalton and Mike from the Red Green Show in that game.

Yeah. No more late night playing.

Everytime you say 'Star Fox Command' I see a little fox wearing the BLoSC uniform armor.

Maybe I oughta draw that.

Oddly enough, I think BLoSC and Star Fox would make an interesting crossover or at least a comparison. Two different interplanetary governments with very different security forces: one with interplanetary police force (and probably more infrastructure) and the other having to rely on mercenary teams when anything flares up.

However, playing with the SF fandom is like playing with a loaded gun. People take the war angle too seriously, to the point that some characters stop being characters and slip into the role of living hyperboles. Extreme good vs extreme evil and all that. ::right now looking at the FF.N section and seeing how much she can scare herself::

It probably would be an interesting comparison, yeah. I mean, in the BLoSC universe, it is politically stable or certainly seems to be. Mostly seems to be based off a more futuristic version of the world today, but of course, less volatile. The Rangers are primarily the police force -- they attend the academy, not boot camp; their rank structure is a police structure where Captain is the step below Commander, rather'n vice-versa; they write traffic cites, run radar, arrest people and sort of read them their rights when they remember to... actually, a whole other discussion would be the amusing amounts of what would be considered in our world civil rights violations that take place. I mean, they seem to double as miliary in a lot of ways -- common theory on my part being that they are the police but as no one in the Galactic Alliance seems to have their own standing army, they fill that role as well, but it's not their primary objective.

Mercenary teams kinda reminds me a little of a 'Mirror Universe' episode of the series -- ie, in the mirror universe everyone else is the same basically except for Buzz, who's the main villain rather than a hero. And, given that he's as good a villain as he is a hero (have my own theories on how that could occur), that universe is in utter shambles. Reminds me a little of our own AU, too, in that the good guys still exist, but they're more resistance fighters and the Rangers are still there but greatly diminished numbers wise. Plus, you seemed to have a fairly strong civilian population of resistance fighters as well.

It would be an amusing thing to compare and contrast, even if it's never written or turned into a game. Still think the idea of a fox in the Star Command armor would be adorable; will have to play with that idea when I get home and back to my sketchbook.

The Star Fox universe is somewhat politically stable, at least in the main star system that most of the action takes place in, Lylat. The major conflict in most of the games was recently revealed to be caused by a rift between the government's military and science departments, with many rivalries between the characters resulting from the fallout. Otherwise, threats come from outside systems.

The mercenary teams aren't really resistance fighters and are usually hired out by the government. Cash before moral except in extreme cases. There appears to be a military in the form of the Cornerian Army, but they're often outnumbered and outgunned. The new game lets you play as three of the soldiers and the standard issue Cornerian Fighter ships suck. It would probably be wise for the government to restructure the whole army, but that hasn't happened yet. Me thinks it might, since there's been change over in the higher ups. Some of the endings also mention that the mercenary teams were dissolved, but there's NINE different endings and no hint to which was canon. Ugh.

Ooooh! Sounds like your dreams are creating a multiverse!

And I'd like to see a fox in a Star Command uniform! Hehe!

I think my dreams are already a mutiverse.

Examples:
- Commander Rick and Number Six teaming up to take over McMaster University.
- Characters from a wide range of LucasArts game characters singing Born to Hand Jive with Stormtroopers as backup dancers. Sure, they were from the same company but most of the games are set in unconnected universes.
- Me marrying Jean Havoc from Fullmetal Alchemist. I have no idea where THAT came from.
