"The changes follow a strategic review that TVO's board of directors did at the request of the education ministry, TVO spokeswoman Jill Javet said yesterday. Last September, the ministry asked the board to align the broadcaster's activities with the government's education priorities and to make it "as relevant as possible to all Ontarians," the ministry said in a news release at the time."

Ah, yes. Now where have I heard this idea before?

"TVOntario wants to be "a stronger, more reactive voice in the community and a forum for contemporary and local points of view," says Daniel Richler, the new arts-programming chief for the province's educational TV service.

"We want to emphasize the educational value of our programs, but without appearing dull and academic, without making viewers feel as if they're in school."

Forgive my snarkiness, but the second quote is from 1989!

Blah. Daniel Richler coooome back! We need you!

Also, I think I'm a victim of an Amazon.ca hickup. I ordered some graphic novels yesterday and they haven't showed up my Open Orders page yet. I see my Animaniacs DVDs, but I don't see my books. However, I did get my Auto Confirm email, but it stated that some of my order might take up to five weeks to ship. Is Amazon just being slow to update because of this or is my order really lost?

I should have just paid the extra $7 or so bucks and bought it through Chapters.
