Episode and 3rd/4th Special downloads!
The Raccoons was a popular Canadian family cartoon series from the 1980s, the first prime time cartoon in Canada, IIRC. I think it used to air in a family programming block with Road to Avonlea at some point, but I'm at a loss. That was a looooong time ago.
The series was spun off of a handful of earlier TV specials, including the surreal Lost Star special. The Lost Star is kinda interesting, as that was probably what set off my fandom insanity at a young age. It's not earth shattering stuff, but it's cute and mildly entertaining (and f'ed up in the case of Lost Star). I'm trying to download "The Intruders!" episode at the moment, 'cause that one rules. The first season is a lot more "let's go out on an adventure!" than the later ones, were the series becomes a lot more "slice of life".

Date: 2006-06-29 04:06 pm (UTC)I also located more Frantic Times episodes, including one I've wanted for three years. My old version of it corrupted! It's really dated, with references to Gretzky playing for the Oilers. Wow. But, there's this really goofy skit where two Canadians World War II soliders are captured by the Nazis and need to escape. Some of the puns that Rick Green's character uses against the Nazi guard are so funny, but it has more to do with the situation than that actual lines. For example, he starts talking to the guard about the Okanagan valley at one point. o_O
So, it was a good night all round.
