Oh My Gee...
Jun. 5th, 2006 11:44 pmIf you are in the Toronto area, you need to book tickets for The Frantics: Still a Disappointment to Their Parents. If you are not in the Toronto area, FIND SOME WAY TO COME!!!
We saw the preview show tonight and words can describe how awesome this show is. Okay, it's my very first live Frantics performance, but it just rocks. The level of energy is amazing. The show has a mix of old material with lots of new and many of the "big" characters and themes pop up throughout. While the skits are rumoured to change every night, there is a bit of a very loose plot that runs through the show. And by very loose, I mean a handful of skits. The payoff, though...
The grand finale features Mr Canoehead and Ultramind singing and dancing on stage at a Canadian superhero awards show, which breaks down into a battle to the death and beyond, including Saint Peter from the Heaven is for Presbyterians skit. I know it sounds like cracked out fan fantasy crossover, but this was what really happened!
There was also a cute song about Mimico that was totally lost on my sister. :D
