I'm here 7am - 6pm today, but that doesn't matter because later things are going to rock.

Yesterday was long too, as Mike and I tried to watch all of season 7 of Red Green and failed after the first disk. We got through "Running of the Bulls", "Swiss It Up", "The Implosion", "Adopt-a-Highway", "The Strange Ranger", and "Big Guy Little Guy" after which any hope of finishing more episodes died. Life sucks like that sometimes. For the most part, they were okay episodes; Stranger Ranger finally explained a plot point that I had missed and was lost on. Mike didn't really care for Adopt-a-Highway, but it has seriously one of the best adventure segments ever when Red and Bill try to remove a tree stump. It reminded me that the adventure segments were a LOT more entertaining when the physical comedy relied on trick photography and the actors acting stupid, not the lame special effects that became the norm later on. These earlier ones tend to have a much more surreal factor, with haunted logs, snorkeling in the fall leaves and the bonfire that takes off like a rocket and don't have the "We tossed this into After Effects!" appearence.

So, is there a point to this? Uh, no. However, SLWatson mentioned that she wanted to see a fic from me. Let it be known that I am not a request whore, but I've been working on my silly fic of death. This part kicked my ass, because the plot that I thought I was writing did a 180 on me and then this came out the other end. In a way, I'm glad, as the story as I originally plotted it sucked ass; a few bits and pieces were trite and the way that it now appears to be going is a bit deeper. The main reason for this silly story was to cover an event from the missing time in the RP, something which ran from late January to sometime in April. No more context as to why this "missing time" happened, although it resulted in the seperate timeline that the stories Stargazing and Lost Days take place in. Anyway, by the time we returned to the "normalverse", several of the characters were carrying themselves differently. This was to explain why one of mine was doing so.

New part is going up in a locked post. I want to do the meme I stole from Steff here

What is your alias?
Teddog, or Rachelle the Teddog if you want the long version.

How did you choose it?
"Teddog" was a word created by some of my friends and I in highschool. I used to be on Yahoo Groups as teddog_3000 and most folks there called me Teddog for short. I started using just "Teddog" on the MST3K fic board and it stuck.

What fandoms do you write for?
Not much right now, really. Over the span of my life I've written for MST3K, PoG, Red Green, Fullmetal Alchemist, Maniac Mansion, Sam and Max, Neopets, Rocket Knight Adventures, Star Wars and Sonic the Hedgehog. Many of those were a long time ago and none of the old fics are online - THANK HEAVEN. I also write for fan created multiverses like IP&S and Subreality.

What fics are you currently working on?
Anonymity, a fic set in the IP&S universe. I also have two request fics on the backburner and I'm taking part in an TTPCTS round robin.

What fandom did you start in?
Depends. The first fandom I wrote fic on paper for was either Star Wars or Sonic. The first one where I clearly knew what I was doing and knew what it was called? That might have been Maniac Mansion.

What is your deepest darkest fic-writing secret?
I have a secret? :O Probably that I wrote fanfic for a class writing assignment in grade five. There was a group of us that tried doing that, but we didn't know what "fanfic" was at the time. I recall that mine was Sonic-based and there were also 101 Dalmatians, James Bond Jr. and Christopher Pike fics by others.

Do you have any quirks/habits in your writing?
There used a line that appeared in all my fics, but I outgrew that. A lot of the time, there tends to be a lot of references to obscure pieces of pop culture in my writing. The first TTPCTS RR was bad for this, to the point were there was a whole part based off of a Genesis song. No, really!

Do you have any fanfiction pet peeves?
Plently. I dislike fic-for-a-pairing's sake a lot, especially when there's no canon build up and one half of the couple is an OC. Used to dislike fluff, but I'm over that now. Still, I tend to favor plot over pairings in any fic I'm reading. High School AUs, fics where the cast is suddenly in high school and dealing with teenage angst, are really annoying.

It should be noted, though, that I find really, really awful fics funny and will read them for a laugh.

Do you have an OTP?
Rice. :P

If you could get someone to write a fic for you right now, who would it be?
Okay, there was a totally awesome Maniac Mansion fic back in the day with the most IC Syd EVER, a sarcastic and blunt, yet unerved guy who was decidedly not screwing Razor. Yeah, I don't get Syd/Razor and it's one of the most hollow pairings ever. I would want to see that finished.

Heya,

Your post just reminded me: I dropped you an email yesterday but it dawned on me this morning that it might disappear into a spam filter. No rush on a reply (if you're keen on replying at all) but I didn't want it to be gobbled up be ze email fairies. :)

That's a long day. I don't mind long days per se, but I hate long days that start that early.

Sorry!

Von
