Now THIS is cracky.
May. 26th, 2006 02:30 pmRemember St. Elsewhere? The series that happened all inside one kid's head? Well, there's a spinoff theory I just learned now.
The idea is that if St. Elsewhere wasn't real, then every other spin-off and connected series must also be a part of the kid's imagination.
This is like saying that every series that Charlie Farquharson was in is in the same universe. Therefore, Prisoners of Gravity, The Red Green Show, Hee Haw, The Andy Griffith Show and The Big Revue (and probably lots more) are all part of the same wacked out universe. St Elsewhere's "Tommy Westphall Universe", the one that exists in the kid's head, includes series that branch off of the connected "spin-offs". Using my not-quite real Farquharson universe as an example, SCTV would also be included, as Bobby Bitman is referenced as being a real person in season two of Red Green. Including SCTV would also mean including the movie Strange Brew and the series The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley, as they are spin-offs.
You can see how this can get really complex really fast.
It's so complex in the Tommy Westphall Universe that there's over 200 series currently connected, not including cartoons as they aren't counted.
Check it out for yourself. It almost matches the insanity of the IP&S universe.
