Bleh. I'm a bad, bad person. I spent money that I shouldn't have, but after seeing the current prices for the MST3K episode "The Beginning of the End" online being so high... and then noticing that a Canadian website had the disk at a fair, normal price... yeah, I jumped on the sucker.

TBotE DVD is in line to become the next Movie DVD, meaning that fans will up over $60 for a copy. Ugh. I ended up downloading a rip of the movie, since there was no way I'd paid over 50 bucks for a used rental copy. I have my VHS that I bought twice (my first copy degraded because I watched it so much), so I feel entitled to that. However, I already have TBotE on VSH, which means I double dipped. I'm bad, so sue me. :P

This tosses me in the "no spending spare change" group for a while with Tas, which means a lack of capusle toys for the next month or so. I got an out of print DVD from it, so I can't really complain too much.

No trip to London, Ontario this weekend for me because of medical issues. I am, as they say, not happy about that. But, that does finally open up Signal Loss time finally. And RP time with the Steff, which we've missed as of late. I wonder if Katie will let me use her scanner. :-\

I remember back when you could only find the Rhino tapes in Canada at speciality stores and I paid $27 for a tape in some cases, but that was the only access we had to the Rhino episodes and we paid up. Pity us.

But, times have changed and it's so much easier to buy MST3K now if you want to. Thus the high prices confuse me, especially for such a minor episodes. The slash fans don't want it THAT badly for the one host segement, do that?

I guess they must. I mean, the sheer notion of Dr. F and Frank having wild buttsex like a pair of Viagra-injected bunnies is enough to send me into a quivering ball of disgust and terror under my bed, but I guess when you're a teenager/young adult looking for sexual release, there's no accounting for taste. Given that ninety-nine percent of them haven't even probably necked in the back of a car yet, let alone had anal sex, we should probably try to be understanding of their awesome immaturity and lack of knowledge and the sheer levels of desperation they would have to reach to write that shit...

...no, nevermind. I can't find it in me. Maybe some pity, somewhere in there. But understanding? Nah. There are a ton of fuckwads in this world. And a lot of fuckwads with really bad taste.

My question is if you need sexual release, WHY Clay and Frank? There's a billion other, more likely and - dare I say it - better looking pairings and situations out there. Yeah, yeah, we joke about bondage!Mike and canon!Rice (although not together and not to the extreme of wild buttsex), but I highly doubt that's going to even leak beyond the realm of the edge of insanity and onto a printed page. If it does, it'll probably be the work of parody, because heaven knows that even normalverse!IP&S!Rice isn't hitting PWP anytime soon. Although, I think the idea of having human!Nance trying to get Rick laid with ANY female on the estate and then having Rick finally force it out and instist on Nance would be kinda sweet, but eh.

It's times like this that I really wished you didn't talk me out of having Gruen/Essex as my fake!OTP. Because then I can fight the stupidity with insanity and that's always fun.

... and I always found that skit funny because my father used to make lemon bars ("lemon rocket fuel") and bribe other guys with them and they were all straight as straight can be.

The Beginging of the End is a minor episode? But the movie is long and slow and has Peter Graves and forsed perspective grasshoppers that climb all over postcards!

It's my favorite episode in the entire series...

And besides, Forrester/Frank isn't very popular, so it's probably not the slashers. It's the completelists that are driving up the price, I think.
