OMFG IT FEELS LIKE MY INSIDES ARE RIPPING APART!

I just spend time on the floor like this, trying to be happy. I did a good job, I think. Peoples like me. But UGH. Painkillers aren't helping the problem.

I wish I was a guy. I wish I didn't have this. ::keels over in pain::

My periods have been getting worse lately. They're so fierce it's insane. We're talking the passing of huge clots. :(

PLEASE, can people recommend either over the counter or natural treatment for menstrHELL pain that, you know, actually works for them? I have to work floor all week and need help! I can barely stand up out there during a hour shift.

You have my sympathy...I've got years of period woes that I could ramble on about but I won't. Suffice to say-- yer not alone.

I'd suggest it might be worth seeing the doc about the clots-- just for your peace of mind. I'm not sure what's considered normal and what should be worrisome. I know everyone gets stuff like that but if it's more than you're used to seeing...?

I've heard that raspberry tea is supposed to be good for easing period cramps...that's never worked for me, though, so I stick to Extra Strength Advil Liqui-Gel caplets. They're meant for migraines, mostly, I think...but to me they're like a nice warm comforting blanket. I get wicked lower backpain with my period and those things are the only medicine I've met that can knock it out.

Good luck...:(

The clots are normal for me, sadly. Checked out and everything. Usually the cramps don't hurt as bad, though, but recently my periods are been getting more and more painful. I'll probably get that looked at sometime in the near future. They aren't bad enough to keep me in bed YET, but I worry about them and I'm not a whimp when it comes to pain.

Extra Strength? Right now I'm trying regular strength Motrin, since I had it onhand because my back was acting up last week. Oddly enough, that took care of everything BUT the muscle and backpain. Doh!

Well what painkillers are you using currently?

Tylenol does nothing. Regular Motrin doesn't knock out all the muscle and backpain.

Maybe one of those wearable heating pads?

The activated charcoal ones? I've tried them before. Jen had them a few months ago (either at Christmas or Thanksgiving) and they seemed to work wonders for her, but not so much for me.

No advice from me (Moggy covered it already) but for what it's worth, I'm sorry. It's really nasty stuff at times. My Mom was cursed with really horrible menstrual problems. Most of the women on my Mom's side had really bad luck on this front so, when I hear of these kinda things, I count myself lucky that I'm male.

It's not fair, though. And not easy to manage. Take care, ok?

Curse you males and your outdoor plumbing! :P

I think it's hereditary, judging from the problems my mom and and sisters have.

I hear you. I'm damn sure I'd have boatloads of problems if I didn't have the Y Chromosome.

Lately mine have been bad too -- add in that almost universally, whenever I was about to start my period, I would have a gallbladder attack. Estrogen does that.

But now I have no gallbladder, even if I am still trapped in this damn hospital for the night.

Usually, heat works for me. Hot showers especially. Unfortunately, there's not much of a chance for you to use that therapy while you're working on the floor. My suggestion would be to look into some herbal teas/remedies that you can take in a travel mug -- you'd be surprised how well some of that so-called quack science works.

But on the upbeat side, I'm doing okay and I miss you and I hope I'll see you soon. Try to survive and take care of yourself.

Noooo! You need to escape!

2006. St Elizabeth's is now a maximum security prison. Breaking out is impossible. Breaking in is insane.

I still think that would make a kickass movie.

Are you channeling Shayna? I can't take a travel mug on the floor. At least, not in many locations that I'm stationed in (no food or drink allowed at all). There's raspberry tea at home, I THINK; I bought a box of different herbal teas the other month and some form of raspberry should be in there.

I miss you too. Hopefully you'll get out soonish. :(
