WHY IS THIS TOWER SO ODDLY APPEALING?!?

It was demo'ed back in 1995. There's next to no info on it.

Opened in April, 1966, the tower stood until December 8, 1995 when, following deterioration in the seaside air and an encounter with Hurricane Opal, it was finally demolished.

This gives me a lame AU story idea. :P I hate that thing, it just breeds insanity.

So, know any towers that where built pre-1980?

I know of only two towers really. The first is the Tower For Remembering Massachutts Vikings, and The Newport Tower (which lacks floors or a roof) in Rhode Island. The first is about nine hours from Buffalo, and the other is about ten.
