Okay... now I feel dumb. I finally found the lyrics to Evidence of Autumn. I've been in debate to what happens to the girl in the song, but it's pretty clear now:

I've always heard "And maybe dawn is breaking as you turn to find the gun" as "And maybe dawn is breaking as you turn to find her gone." Same idea, though. It's odd that Genesis would release such a depressing song as a B side to Turn it On Again.
