A Word To The Wise

Just as the banner says – If you really feel the need to see everything, you gotta leave me a comment. This isn't an “OMG! LJ DRAMA!” issue or a attention grab for more LJ friends. There's nothing really... extreme in my life; I'm a simple media geek. But, when I'm posting photos, chat clipping and the finer details of my personal life, I no longer want to broadcast to the world. This is only for the privacy of myself and my pals.
Think of this as a way to stop the flow of needless trash into the general online media market.

I'm sorry to parody the equal right movement... but I find it funny that Riza is the only sane one in the top bar and Havoc and Fury are my two favorite Fullmetal Alchemist characters... although I can't stand them as a couple... ummm... Yay for everything!!!

Date: 2005-07-15 07:20 am (UTC)The main purpose for this slight lockdown is that I've been burned by random people several times about very... out there things. These included discussing my medical issues (I mention them here so I have a record of what happens) and my GPA mark and posting photos of my roommate and I goofing around with glow sticks. And while I can take the heat and go "LOL! Losers!" right back, I'm not really comfortable with dragging my offline friends along with me, especially those with little or no online presence. It's like talking about someone in a public forum without giving them a chance to fight back. I trust the people on my Friends List, but the past has shown me there are some REAL wackos out there and I don't want to be blamed for others getting hurt. Even within my college program there are some total dickweeds making a stink about other student's Livejournals/Blogs, which is really creepy.
Yeah, this seems a little extreme from the "Free media for all!" nerd. Maybe it's a phase I'm going through.
