Boring Warcraft Stoof

Signed up for the Wrath of the Lich King Betal Opt In. I'm only curious about the plotline.

My fear is that we're getting Burning Crusade 2: Electric Boogaloo in terms of plot. Burning Crusade had waaay too many loose plotlines and ideas that didn't make sense. Why was Illidan a big baddie?! The main evil force was the Burning Legion. The problems in the old world that started Burning Crusade? The Legion caused them. Who shaped the Draenei and Blood Elf backstories? Legion. Why was the Sunwell nuked? The Legion was playing around with it.

And then we go and kill Illidan off, which is funny because the Legion was trying to do the EXACT SAME THING. Now, granted, you couldn't run a plot in Outland without Illidan, since he was running around calling himself "Lord of Outland" or whatever. But, he was batshit insane and wasn't really a threat to anyone but himself. You know, other than that attack on Shattrath that ended badly, but that proved he was both nuts and more or less an empty threat.

So. I'm hoping that WotLK will be more interesting. Some signs point to it being better already, like, oh, CHROMIE IS BACK. :D

I'm so easily amused.
