Not only is it a tragic event for the area (Minnesota is a nice place and I didn't live too far from there), but I have a fandom that started grew out of there and still has pretty high numbers. I'm a MSTie, a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan, in case you were wondering. Boards and comms have "check in" lists for members local to the area to post and comfirm they're okay. The last time I saw that was back around September 11th, 2001.
It's all very surreal.
