teddog: (I'll kick your ass!)
Our network is so broken today. I'm lucky I can even post something this morning. I've been mostly passing the time reading the newspaper and a book on software engineering. Although, it looks like the network is back... AND...

We still don't have the materials for a project due on the 15th. WTF? I foresee an EXTREMELY long week. Ugh.

I do have more Prisoners of Gravity to share, but the network problem is causing YouTube to not load correctly sometimes. I stuck them up in a rush too, so I haven't had time to list the guests. This is particularly tricky for this episode because the interview order is very gimmicky, which seems to be par for the course for many season two episodes.

Anyway, provided we can get the network to remain stable long enough, I might have something to post before lunch.

Ha! I've made it to week two! This week's episode is Science and Technology.

I've tried a new type of compression, since the last one gave me grief. This didn't come without problems: there's some odd colour that flares up in the lower left corner. Some scenes are oddly compressed, like the opening shot of Rick right before Nan-Cy's first on screen bit. I don't think these are too noticeable. Look, my plan was to get the episodes out there, not to provide DVD-quality video. It's on YOUTUBE for Heaven's sake!

Ahem. I will look into improving this for next week. For some reason, the audio liked knocking out on high quality video all weekend... and then I wasted time on this, but I GOT NEW PANTS!

From the episode guide:
395210 SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY AIRDATE: DECEMBER 6/90
Commander Rick debates the impact science and technology are having on society with science fiction writers Gregory Benford (PhD, Physics), Robert Sawyer (computer programmer), Jack Womack (neo-Luddite) and fellow techno-peasant Spider Robinson. Rick attempts to control the technology onboard his communications satellite Reality One by wiring together a "pow-R glove" -- with hilarious results!

Translation: pow-R glove = messy interview order.
