I called this one a while back!

CNL Income Properties Agrees to Acquire Seven Former Six Flags Properties
I wouldn't worry TOO much for Darien Lake's future. It sits on a massive plot of land - the park itself is not 978 acres big and is rather quite small when compared to Canada's Wonderland. The story of how the park has that much darn property is beyond me. Maybe the original owner wanted the world's largest campground. It's location makes the land not worth that much. It's in the backwoods of Northwestern New York state and while a very pretty area, it isn't very populated.
That said, we were holding back summer amusement park plans until Rachie heard a confirmation and this is it. Most of our local parks are suffering from ownership turnovers - Wonderland went to Cedar Fair and now this new company is going to own Darien Lake. Because things are in change over, it's best to avoid the parks for the season and Darien Lake hasn't exactly been bought by a company with a glowing track record.
So, who's up for Martin's Fantasy Island instead?
