Yes, that made me laugh. Why do you ask? :B
Anyway, I spent the evening with Katie looking for writing challenge comms and managed to get a little annoyed. I understand that many of these are themed - that's often the point, isn't it? Problem comes when some of these comms have a neato theme with the prompts and then post in the rules that only slash fics are allowed. What the heck, fandom? The theme was a combination of the seven sins and virtues, which while cheesy (most of these comms are) could allow for some fun mixing.
Of course, if you protest the buttsex only rule, you get blamed with not being open minded. I find that a bit of a joke, given that my "One True Pairing" squicks my youngest sister... and it's het. XD
Now, I know that I'm already a member of
color_i_fic, but I failed at Shades of Grey and couldn't get into the current challenge when it started. I have something in my backlog that is more or less a one off that I couldn't get finished for Shades of Grey. It's hard to take nature themes from the current challenge when your main fandoms don't allow for that much in terms of the outside world. Although, I'm tempted to get onboard with either this challenge or the next one with Fiona Fox from the Sonic comics. Ever since issue 160 I've been digging that character and sad as it is in the face of the rest of the fandom, I'm liking her and Sonic as a couple. I am a dork. Doubt that couple will last. :(
That discourse aside, I found the idea of
30enemies amusing. Instead of focusing on a couple, you pick two characters who are enemies to each other and explore their relationship. Kinda funny, since I was looking for an excuse to write fluff originally. Katie suggested I join
10_laughs and
7snogs for fluff, but we know what she wants. ;)
Meh. I need something to do while looking for work.
