teddog: (Pirate Broadcaster!)
If I was an elemental, my element would be media. Of the cheesey kind, if I can.

Once upon a time, there was a strange land called the United States. On Military Road, the traveller known as the Teddog found a strange store called Media Play. The store was very good to her, providing her with lots of MST3K when it was hard to locate (VHS and DVD was found there) and other oddities like Buckaroo Banzai and Off Beat Cinema. It also ran silly TV ads on the stations out of Buffalo. "Media Play... is fun!" "Media Play... for gifts!" She can still sing the jingles.

However, everything good has to end, or so it seems, and Media Play decided to go under on the poor Teddog. If you were to talk to her, it was like a chunk of herself was taken, all because of a silly (very silly) media store.

For her last trip, she dug through the remains of the store and found a cute pin set with Sango, a Han Solo keychain and a copy of Trace Memory, all at discount.

...

I want my smelly media hole back. This is like having Cinema 1 close up on me. Gosh, it's like I lost a happy place and I'm never going to get it back.

Got my Metropass, finally. It's so different too. I'm used to planning out my exact TTC route based off of fares and now I can go WHEREVER I want. Wild.

Jen and I watch the Knight Rider pilot. No good comes of this.

Jen as Devon (with some help from ME! but I can't remember who said what): "Here at the Foundation we go around things, got that Michael? Note how the car goes around the truck. Very different from how you went through the door (and you still owe us payment for that...). See, around, not through. Much like your issues with the bullets. Let the bullets go around you, not THROUGH you. It saves us trouble in the end."

Jen and I: "Sit down, shut up and let the car drive!"

Me (guess the scene): "GAH! Devon, why couldn't you have driven an extra 5 feet?"

Sorry... we're cruel, cruel people. Although, that episode may have what is the greatest quote/exchange ever....

Michael: You are about as much fun as a divorce, which is not a bad idea!
KITT: I want custody of me!

When you hear that at 2am, it's the greatest thing EVER. It's on the list of "random sister quotes" now. XD
