I found a bunch of Raccoons MP3s today. Oh man, that brings me back...
The Raccoons was an Canadian animated series that used to air on CBC back in the 1980s, although I've been told it ran on NBC in the US. It started with a cute Christmas Special in 1980 that introduced the core set of characters. There was second special, "Raccoons on Ice", in 1981, themed after hockey - hey, it's a Canadian cartoon! 1983 brought a very strange special "The Raccoons and the Lost Star", which, as I understand it, was set in some sort of alternate universe. The last special, "Let's Dance" was released to video (yep, an early DTV release long before Disney caught on to it) and was mostly a clip show set to the music from the first three specials.
The actual series started in 1985 and ran until 1991. It's not GOOD television by any means (although its was a kids' show that didn't really talk down to kids until the later seasons), but its video comfort food to people like me who grew up on the series.
The thing that most stood out from the series was a scene in the episode "The Intruders". There's one part in the episode were the characters come across an underground waterfall. The location used to appear in many dreams of mine and I never could recall where the place was from until I saw a rerun of the episode. One of the "OMGWTF?" moments of my life. If I ever write the great Canadian novel, it's going to have an underground waterfall.
Late last year, 9 episodes were released on DVD and it seems that recently 9 more were released. The specials and episodes from season 1 are STILL not out yet. There's only 60 episodes and with 18 already out, I suppose that it's only a matter of time.
It's a shame that it still doesn't air on Canadian television. The last time I saw anything Raccoons related on TV was on Prisoners of Gravity, oddly enough: in one episode you can see The Raccoons playing on a montior behind Rick. I can't figure that one out, as The Raccoons was a CBC program and Prisoners of Gravity is a TVOntario program. It may have been the French version of The Raccoons, which I think aired on TFO (French TVO), but there's no audio from The Raccoons episode on PoG, so I can't tell.

Guess who just cracked a million Neopoints on Neopets today? Power to the Flash game players!
It took a while, but I managed to do it with games and not restocking (evil!). I can make around 15k - 20k a day by using a combination* of the following games:
Chemistry for Beginners
Defender Trainer
Destruct-O-Match
Dubloon Disaster
Extreme Herder
Faerie Bubbles
Gadgadsgame (when it didn't crash my computer)
MAGAX: Destroyer
Meerca Chase
Mootix Drop
Snowmuncher
Turmac Roll
Usuki Frenzy
Warf Rescue Team
Whack-A-Kass
* I didn't play ALL these games everyday because I simply don't have the spare time and I would get bored with the same games day in and day out. I just payed these games at random until I reached the amount of points I wanted to make that day.
If you're a neo player on my friends list and want a reasonably priced prezzie (around 50K, since I have to buy my sisters paint brushes @_@), leave a comment with what you want and your username and I'll see what I can do.
And thank you to Nacey for the Ptolymelon. Me likes! :B
