It's too darn hot to make any sense of the world. The heat has gotten to my brain. The smog doesn't help either.
My dog doesn't do anything but sit around and pant. He has the silliest look on his face while panting, almost annoyed and blissful at the same time.
I want to do SOMETHING, but don't know what. I've heard squat from my client and I'm mad. I don't want to bother Louise either.
I'm going to go out to Toronto on the train to visit Lisa this Saturday. I was thinking of bugging the Merril Collection to get those tapes out, but since I haven't seen Lisa since October, I'm going to spend all my time with her in wonderful TORONTO which I love so much.
I've been getting all nostagic for older seasons of The Red Green Show for the past few days. It figures that today marks the 50th anniversary of CHCH (AKA CH, OnTV), the local channel that Red Green started on. Steve Smith was on the morning show and said that the series has been picked up for two more seasons over on CBC. Before I had season 14 pegged as its last. Now we are almost for sure going to have 15 seasons.
It funny though, because the TV station used clips from The New Red Green Show. Why is it so funny? Allow the fangirl to explain...
The clips used were from sometime during seasons 4-6 in the mid-90s. At this point in the series the production crew was using CHCH's studios, but the final product was airing on Canwest/Global. If CHCH was wanting to show what Red Green was like back when it was "born", they should have usaed clips from much earlier in the series.
The ironic thing is that Canwest/Global recently bought CHCH a few years back.
I found the whole thing funny, at least. And rumour is that Rick Green is going to return in season 14. If he's back on the writing team, I will be kinda-sorta-happy.
