Sandwiches

My new nickname around the house is "Database", which is cool because I haven't had a nickname in a long while.

I took the dog to the park. Gage is a lot smaller than how I remembered it. I was going to go out rock climbing with Louise tonight, but that fell through. We're supposed to be doing something on Wednesday.

I get to go to Toronto tomorrow. I need to talk to my dentist about removing my wisdom teeth. They aren't causing any problems now, but since I live on the other side of the province 8 months of the year I want to stop any trouble before it starts.

Mom said we'll stop by that Montreal Deli on Dundas, which rocks because it's impossible to get a semi-proper smoked meat sandwich in Thunder Bay. It's probably the Quebec blood in me that drives the smoked meat urge and in T-Bay the only place that serves something remotely like a smoked meat sandwich is Zellers... and... well, do I even need to explain that?

There are three sandwiches that hold the universe together: The standard cheese, the toasted western and the smoked meat. Since my grandmother died, I haven't had smoked meat in a while. And we're apparently going to stop by Square One on the way home. I miss the old video wall.

All this talk reminds me of PoG, which I missed today because my cable decided to be STUPID. I saw a few seconds of the opening and then it cut to the "This station will be available shortly" screen. Of course, it wasn't available before the show was over.

You know, I honestly don't watch that much TV. Most television today is... eww. However, the few shows I try to watch I rather enjoy, therefore I'm annoyed when I can't see them because of a crappy signal.

I think there's a plot against me, because my CBC Radio One here signal sucks too. It was clear in Thunder Bay, but then we had only 5 FM stations up there and down here there's like 5 billion. I have my Y108 and Q107 back. Yay.

Speaking of which, I suddenly had the drive to finish a very old project today. The end.

Yeah...

Another coaster death.

This isn't the first time that the East Coast Superman coasters have had problems related to their lapbars, but I believe that this is the first time someone has died.

I dunno why I felt like posting this. It's so early into the season and the messes and flamewars are already starting up...

Did Rush ever release an fluffy album that one could consider a "summer album"? I'm trying to build a "summer mix" for my MP3 player.

I've aways thought of Genesis' "Abacab" as a summer album. It's a goofy, fluffy album. It has no deep meanings and isn't the greatest thing in the world, but I like it because it's stupid. On the same vein, "Invisible Touch" is goofy, but the songs are more complex. I'll probably rip Abacab into mp3 and toss in Submarine b-side at the end of the Dodo/Lurker set. I'd like that, yes.

Today was okay. The dentist got me hooked up with a specialist that I'll need to visit on Monday. With the meeting with the client of a programming project on Tuesday afternoon and a eye appointment on Sunday, I'm fairly busy.

And my smoked meat sandwich rocked. Mom said we might be going out to Montreal this summer with the extended family (us, my uncle and his family and my grandfather and step grandmother), so she'll have to take me to a Bens' Deli.

I want to get out to the Central Library and get some books on the history of popular media and the history of public boardcasting. Like most students, I want to study over the summer, but I feel like improving my booksmarts first, rather than focus on my programming skills.

Current Coaster Count: 64
Goal For 2004: Make it reach 70!

Big Planned Parks For 2004 (provided I can get my paws on a SF season pass): SF Great America (May), SF St. Louis (May), Canada's Wonderland (questionable), La Ronde (July?), SF Great Adventure (planned, no confirmed date), SF America (see Great Adventure), The Great Escape (I love that park, dang it!)

Coasters I Need and May Be Able To Reach This Month:
Great America - Last visit in 2001
American Eagle - Blue Side: Missed out on it back in 2001. This will depend on it the park is running both sides and on how fast I can reach the back of the park, where this thing is buried.
Deja Vu: Was under construction in 2001. I've heard stories about the Deja Vu coasters and none of them good. This one depends on if the park can get the thing running.
Ranging Bull: Missed in 2001. This one depends on the lineup.
Ragin' Cajun: Didn't exist in 2001. We'll have to see if the ride is finished construction by the May Two-Four weekend.
Spacely's Sprocket Rockets: Missed in 2001. Easy one to write off.
Superman - Ultimate Flight: Wasn't built in 2001. This one will depend on the lineups and if it's running.
Vertical Velocity: Was in testing in 2001. Since I've dropped some weight, I should be able to fit into an Intamin Impluse Shuttle again without being scared of falling out. I hate this type of coaster, I really do...

St. Louis - Last visit in 2002
River King Mine Train: Missed in 2002. Should be easy to bump off.
Screamin' Eagle: Missed in 2002. Another easy one.

---

So... I may be able to reach 70 by the end of May.
