When working on the Military Dogs (my Fullmetal Alchemist fansite), I decided that the Gameboy Advance games wouldn't be worth my time. All the info I had pointed to Havoc being the only one of the minions featured in the game. However, I saw a sprite sheet that had sprites for Breda, Falman and Fuery as well....
Curious, I decide to fight through the game to see where the sprites came from. I know very little Japanese, so I had to use an English walkthrough.
The first little bit was hard. My RPG playing style relies heavily on using healers and neither Ed and Al have healing alchemy skills. All the healing items had to be created through the alchemy system, which is card based and a pain in the neck. So many numbers....
Heh. Once I got the healing character, things really picked up and I found myself out in East City in no time
The walkthrough suggested to find Mustang right away. However... I had a mission. I poked around the Eastern HQ and then.... I found them. I FOUND THE MINIONS.
What did I think of them? This chat clipping will answer all questions:
Me: The chibi sprites are so cute, though.... *watches them*
Me: They're wandering around. *_* I want my own pet minions
Katie: -_-;;
Me: You know you like 'em.
Me: LOL!
Me: LMAO!
Katie: what?
Me: .... I made a video of them wandering around. XD
Katie: *rolls eyes*
Me: *dies*
Me: I am a HAPPY fangirl.
Katie: *smiles*
The portrait art doesn't hold up as well as the cute chibi/full body art...
Oh nos! Havoc! What did they do to you? From here, Havoc looks a bit like a woman. So funny but sad. Jen would kill if she saw that.
Fuery is off hiding in the corner. He looks strange too, since they drew his face too long and it makes him look too old.
Breda is actually the best looking and most on model of the bunch. Breda's also one of those strange characters that gets cooler and cooler as time goes on...
And... uh.... Falman. That's all I really have to say. He's probably my least favorite out of the group, which isn't saying THAT much.
More media for my fansite, too! Heehee....
Anywho, minions aside, this game is a complete riot. Bradley leering at young girls, Ed complaining about how many times trains get robbed, Riza conning Roy into work, Al stuffing cats into his armor, Hughes breaking into inns to share family photos... the list goes on. I really hope this gets ported over, because I would buy it in a second.
