I have a new nickname
Jan. 5th, 2005 01:37 amOne of my old teachers has nicknamed me "Machine Girl". Idea being that we talked about programming today and the way I went about coding and problem solving reminded her of how computers "think". I suppose she was talking about fiction computers, since she's a massive SciFi buff.
Now! Fandom crap...
The new Maniac Mansion flash films floating around 'net kick so much butt. Here's Part One and Part Two. The second part is a lot better than the first one. Part One made me think that the creator was just going to follow the motions of gameplay, but he's putting new spin on the plot. My only "Meh" thought on the second part is that it seemed we were going to get a peek at Mark Eter at the start. No such luck.
On a second note, "Call on Me" deserves a place on a Maniac Mansion soundtrack. It just kinda fits in the context of the game's plot and music. :P
I'm so going to do something for these themes, if only to stick it to a fandom interested in... no, obsessed with angst. I'm not going as far as to write FMA Crack!fic, but it's NOT going to be standard "OMG! My life sucks! Whaaa!" trash the fandom is known for. Okay... the plot Katiers and I came up with for "Body Heat" IS on crack, but the rest may probably be less so.
Of course, this is coming from the person who randomly sings pointless songs from the 70s and 80s when with her sisters. There is no sanity here. It left 21 years ago.
I was thinking of combining all 20 themes into a set of drabbles (PROPER, 100-worders) with a loose plot connecting them. Briefly toyed with a Subreality-themed wrap-around. Basically, the wrap around would have a storyline based in Subreality and the drabbles would be based in FMA land. I may or may not go with that idea, because it would jump around a ton and possiablly give readers a headache.
