Jun. 13th, 2004 09:41 pmI wish that Discovery Channel (Canada) would pick a time for Mythbusters and then STICK TO IT.
Chasing programs is normal for me, but that's because a lot of my favorite shows are odd, old and shuffle around a lot. But Mythbusters is fairly new and has a good chance for success. Why shuffle it around?
Heh, and this just popped into my head. Yesterday, while coming home from Lisa and Mike's place in T.O., dad and I drove by Bakka, a sci-fi bookstore. I said, "Hey, that's where Bakka is!" and my dad asked "Did you hear about Bakka through Prisoners of Gravity?"
This totally STUNNED me. My father has never, ever expressed interest in the show other than slamming it. He's never even really discussed it with me, like how we discuss OBC or MST3K, although mom has. She once AIMed me to tell me she saw it once while I was in Thunder Bay. I think she watches behind my back, since she seems to know when it's on. ;-)
But dad? NEVER.
For the record, I found out about Bakka through a Robert Sawyer novel, not PoG, although I think Bakka is mentioned in the credits along with the Silver Snail and the Merill Collection (in later seasons). I'll have to check tomorrow.
I will admit that Lisa and I walked pass Bakka after getting takeout from the Japanese place and I didn't notice it. I'm such an airhead. Insert Bakka/baka pun here.
