Watch as Teddog attempts to use her slow cooker for the first time!

Yeah, I wanted ribs, I didn't want to pay take out prices for ribs and I don't have a grill. So, I'm using a slow cooker recipe and giving it a shot. I was kinda put off slow cooker recipes as my aunt used one all the time and it was made of fail. Her recipes were limited to "Place massive chunk of meat in the cooker, place in potatoes and carrots, food when you get home!". Her cooking was amazing bland because she used no seasoning. I also got sick from eating heavy cuts of meat every single night. Her ribs also were terrible, dry nasty things with no flavour.

I MUST DO BETTER.

So far, My apartment has smelled really good for the past two hours. XD

Nummy!

Good luck with it. I was horribly non- experimental when I was a bachelor, and consequently gained 20 lbs from eating fast food year round.

Thanks!

I think I've put on weight from being experimental. Too many nummy foods. Oddly enough, too much fast food makes me ill.

Slow cookers are great for meat. Just have to know how to season and how to really let it cook over time.

The LJ law of slow cooking is if it works you must post the recipie.

I'm happy to say that my first go at it was a success, but it was a basic recipe. I'm going to be looking up more. Learning how to properly season food is something that I never learned growing up and I'm exploring with now. That's the result of looking up recipes online and noting "Oh, that looks... really bland. How can I change it?"

I think I like the slow cooker. There's a certain element of "This is your machine, figure out how it works best" that appeals to be tech side of my brain. It also really doesn't heat up the apartment. On the other hand, I can see how it would be frustrating to someone who expects food on the spot without time and planning.

I should not be this girly :(

Posted. Yeah, it's kinda loose, but it worked great for me.
