Dec. 27th, 2007 12:51 pmI don't like bragging about Christmas gifts online - it makes me feel uncomfortable - but there's one that I'd like to bring up because it BAFFLES ME and not in that I got it.
When I was a young brat, I was a fan of SCTV. Yeah, use it against me, but SCTV is more a nostalgia thing than something I think is completely amazing and wonderful, although it ties into my interest in LucasArts' Maniac Mansion series. I collected a fair amount of Bob and Doug McKenzie stuff because they're really the only characters that were easy to follow and locate outside the original series, unlike Ed Grimley or Count Floyd (Dr Tongue's Evil House of Pancakes!) and, yeah, I got this year's Bob and Doug special on DVD for Christmas. Haven't watched it yet, but I've heard very mixed reviews.
What shocked me and caused me to bring this up is that the special features include footage of the Hoser Parade. I'm a bit surprised that it was even brought up, because I was under the impression that Dave Thomas was ashamed at what the parade ended up being; a celebration of public, under aged drunkenness and stupidity. You'd think that they'd just leave that dead and buried.
