Second, the tale of my random night.

I came home and intended to DO things, like finish that PoG episode and maybe write something. I popped onto Warcraft to give a shout to Mike and Lisa, do a badge and bombing run and fully intend to get off afterwards.

Well, it turns out that Mike is on his paladin and in the middle of his level 20 class quest, AKA "Go around the world and get random object for a fancy mace". So, given that he ran my paladin through this with Thran, I'm ready to go over on Fel, my level 70 hunter, and do the same. Instead, I get told that Lisa's druid is going to keep him alive and my priest gets invited to come.

My priest is a joke character. My friends and I have goofy alt characters - there's a blood elf paladin based on my youngest sister, a human mage based on Graham Greene, think that Katie named a hunter "Rachie" after me too... anyway, so, I discovered enemy characters once that looked like Enrico Gruen and tried to reproduce that with the character creator. Thus, Enrico the priest, who usually causes "This week on Second Nature... (insert random Warcraft related joke here)" to be posted in the guild chat. I rarely play him, so he has crap gear.

I figure that Mike's logic is that everytime we go up to Shadowfang Keep, the final boss drops a nice set of robes. So, I switch from Fel to Enrico and the three of us run up to Shadowfang Keep. Through the first part of the instance, all of the good cloth items appear to be Warlock gear. Kinda annoying. Eventually, we reach Wolf Master Nandos and he drops a Feline Mantle. Nice stats, wished it looked better. We complete the run and Archmage Arugal drops the Robes of Arugal, which is the reason I came in the first place.

Two nice items like that is more than enough to make me happy for a while, but then Mike suggests that we go to the other Blackfathom Deeps. Now, you only need to kill the monsters outside of the instance to complete the paladin quest, but he wants to run the WHOLE THING. Lisa agrees, so it's off into another instance! In there, I got a Rod of the Sleepwalker and Leech Pants (gross name), plus the Gravestone Scepter, which was a quest reward. While they weren't AS good, I also got a new belt and cape.

And after ALL THAT, Lisa hops onto her tailoring/enchanting mage and makes me some boots, a new robe to hold me over one level until I can wear the Robes of Arugal, and tosses in some low enchants for good measure.

Of course, this killed all of my evening, but I entered with a level 20 priest with crap gear and came out with a level 23 priest with a wackload of good gear, half of which I can't even wear yet. o_O
