teddog: (Isn't THAT the damndest)

Alright, it's not my place to be confused by the country to the south, but...
The headline reads US wolves 'no longer endangered'.

Except that the first paragraph reads "The move paves the way for the hunting of wolves in the US for the first time in more than 30 years.".

I mean, wolves almost went extinct about 30 years ago in the states. I'm getting a "too soon" vibe. However, I'm strongly biased against hunting unless you're using the critter for survival or fighting in self defense.

So, was it Mike Nelson or Commander Rick this time? This needs a poll!

Since I don't know who Mike is my vote is for the Commander.

Ground control to Commander Rick.

Mike is the second host on Mystery Science Theater 3000. You know, the one that broke the Hubble in the movie?

It is too soon to hunt wolves, IMO. Sadly, stigmas are stigmas.

And with the crowd around here, you really think there's any chance that Rick won't win in a landslide? ;)

I have a lot of friends who are Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans (the show that Mike is from), so I think it's about an even match. :)

The whole thing seems more than a bit shady. Yes, taking a species off the endangered list is great, but there's already plans for open hunting? 'Cause hunting really did wonders the first time around. :(

There's a big jump from Least Concern to Endangered.
