Aug. 15th, 2006 01:31 pmSo, I'm digging around YouTube last night for some sad form of entertainment. YouTube has two settings: Ultra Awesome Retro Stuff and Lame Ass Kids Wanting to Be Noticed. I perfer the former.
However, some of the older stuff is quite scary. This, for example. This is the true meaning of "WTF?".
1980s Canadian Shake & Bake commercial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2l1SrlvguA&NR
It appears to be a Shake and Bake ad with several Canadian comedians. That makes it some kind of surreal mega crossover! I spy Wayne Robinson as the man in the center at the beginning and Rick Green as the guy with the glasses and beard reading off the back of the box. Dan Redican is supposed to be in there too, but I can't find him. There's also the guy that says "Beauty!", which may or maynot be Bob and Doug McKenzie reference. Apparently, they all live in a boarding house together with some old lady. Guess it's true you can't make much money in Canadian show biz.
The poster says that this is one in a series of ads. Wow. Just... wow. I want to see them all. There's one line in this ad that completely makes it for me. Try and find it. :D
If you're wondering where the other two Frantics are, they're out golfing:

Run, Paul, run!
Eh. For the heck of it, here's some more Frantics related video clips I found on the site. These are from news broadcasts and therefore are slightly more sane.
CITY TV News Clip for Frantic Times' 100th episode:

It even shows how Paul does MooMoo BunnyLips' voice through a huge paper tube.
Sound Effects and Writing on Franitcs Times:

Look how thin Dan is here.
