Mom: Janet said she'll take us to the bookstore and then maybe Wegmans.
Me: Wegmans? GET MY CREDIT CARD! WE'RE BUYING FUNKY AMERICAN SNACK TREATS!

I have a profound weakness for foreign sugar. VERY profound.

I don't want to say that I pig out on snacks... because I don't. But trying something wild and crazy is fun! I can dump $10 at the Japanese candy store downtown or at the IKEA food section.

And the US falls into that area too. Tops and Wegmans, man. And Ames, but they don't exist anymore. As much as the US is "meh" to me, I'll always have a soft spot for northwestern New York.

It's just sad when I watch MST3K and have urges for the wacky candy and snacks that are mentioned.

How many of these old Canadian stores do YOU remember?

I've been to a C&D (Centre Mall and other), Eaton's (TONS. Sherway, Yorkdale, Eaton Centres in Toronto and Hamilton, Limeridge, Cloverdale.), K-Mart (Again, TONS. Centre Mall, Limeridge.), Miracle Mart (by the 427), Robinson's (Centre Mall), Simpsons (Sherway Gardens comes to mind), Towers (corner of Dixie and Dundas), Woolco (Honeydale mall? It was out by Kipling.), Woolworth's (on Lakeshore, I think). Toy City isn't listed, but I remember that too. The place with the panda logo?
